Toronto Jr Canadiens

Congratulations to Jr Canadiens alumni and current North Bay Battalion Defensemen Ty Nelson on signing a 3 year Entry Level contract with the Seattle Kraken yesterday. Seattle selected the 19-year-old Nelson with the 68th overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft. Nelson was an alternate captain for North Bay this past season and led a team loaded with NHL-drafted forwards in postseason scoring, with six goals and 25 points in 20 games, along with a team-leading +15 rating.

On Day 2 of the 2023 OHL Priority Draft, 9 more Jr Canadiens players were selected in rounds 6 through 15. 

Congratulations to Xander Velliaris (3rd Rd, Kingston), Luka Graziano (3rd Rd, Flint) and Chase Yanni (3rd Rd, Ottawa) on getting chosen on Day 1 of the 2023 OHL Draft.  Well deserved and all three organizations are lucky to have them. 

Congratulation to 2007 born U16 players Jake O'Brien, Luca Romano and Nico Addy who were all drafted in the the 1st Round of the 2023 OHL Draft.  Jake O'Brien was drafted 8th overall to the Brantford Bulldogs.  Luca Romano was drafted 11th to the Kitchener Rangers and Nico Addy was drafted next at 12th overall to the Owen Sound Attack.

Congratulations to the Jr Canadiens U11 team on winning the GTHL Championship with a 3-1 win last night against the #1 seed North York Rangers. This teams progress from training camp till now, has been extraordinary thanks to the effort of all the players, Lee Jinman and staff, and all the parents.  Congratulations to all and enjoy being Champions all summer long!
